Writing Update, June 2026 #AmWriting

Current state—running in circles with flailing arms.

Photo of an author sitting at a laptop, chin resting thoughtfully on her hand, looking down at the screen with a slight smile. She has long grey hair and black-framed glasses, wearing a navy ribbed sweater. Behind her, a white bookshelf is packed with books, files, and craft supplies. White text overlaid on the image reads 'WRITING UPDATE' and '#AMWRITING'.

Back on track. Maybe?

Remember when I said there might be too much going on? It went okay—kind of—until I ran into issues front, back, and centre. Having said that, there are a few milestones to celebrate.

The Spheres’ eBooks are now available at BookShop.org

My books are now on Bookshop.org—money from each sale goes back to indie bookstores, which feels like a good thing to be part of.

Get The Fragments and The House at bookshop.org! \(^-^)/.

Book Two, The House—Amazon Trade paperback edition is out

The Amazon trade paperback edition is out and about \(^-^)/. I am super pleased with how it turned out. Having learned my lessons with Book One, the publication went well … other than underestimating the time it takes to go through the final proof and how many errors still surface.

An amazing fan from Hamilton wrote the first five-star review for The House on Goodreads! If you want a free review copy, let me know!

Yay!

Book One, The Fragments—audiobook coming July 7th

The release for The Fragments audiobook edition is July 7, 2026. Yay!

So… I might have been a bit naive doing this all by myself. I ran into too many issues to count. Enough to put this all together in another blog post for those who are interested. But after all the struggles, the audiobook edition of The Fragments will be released on 7 July 2026 at Kobo, Google Play, and my website.

The audiobook edition is an early experiment in digital narration—reviewed and edited by humans. The modest price tag supports my writing adventures and keeps my books affordable. Listen to the sample and, if you’re curious or just want to hear The Fragments come to life, I’d love for you to be part of that experiment with me.

Book Three, outline and structure

I had to put the work on Book Three on hold in May and June. Now I’m in a place where I can pick up the loose ends and run with it. Almost. We’ll see how I go.

Current Book Crush

Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie. This book is as good as everybody says it is. If you like “A Memory Called Empire” by Arkady Martine or “The Murderbot Diaries” by Martha Wells, this is for you.

That’s about it for now. More soon (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡

New here? I write adult fantasy that sits somewhere between dystopia, post-apocalyptic fiction, and science fiction—complex, a little dark, unapologetically nerdy.
I’ve published two books in a trilogy called The Spheres—The Fragments (2022), The House (2025)—and am working on Book Three. If you enjoyed this post, why not sign up to my newsletter or get a free review copy?
