A late May recap.

Calmer waters
So… I decided to actually give this a go—I’ll concentrate on my artwork and writing until my money runs out or I come up with a plan B that doesn’t involve going back to working in IT or anywhere near the job market in Wellington. It’s scary but also creates an exciting opportunity to do things differently \(^-^)/!
Art
On the art side of things, I am focusing on making stock for my stockist. Online sales on my own website are still very slow but picking up. The main issue remains that I make about a dollar an hour (before taxes). So, again, need to work smarter. A start are the new limited edition paper mache sculptures; the first edition is called Maus and almost sold out. More are in the making. And I have so many exciting ideas for new work that I need to prototype!
Books and writing
Meanwhile, the first paperback edition of The House—an Amazon trade paperback—is out and about. I had to postpone the audiobook edition for The Fragments, but it’s close and I hope to get it all done in June. The work on Book three has screeched to a halt, but will be picked up in June!
Renovations
It’s winter so the work outside slowed down, and the next tasks inside are a bit intimidating and questionable seeing that I want to sell the house in the foreseeable future. But there have been clean-ups in mini sprits—a rotten house corner board here, a bit of landscaping there.
After the recent dramas, everything feels calmer and more hopefull. Maybe I got this?
Until next month (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡

New here? I write adult fantasy that sits somewhere between dystopia, post-apocalyptic fiction, and science fiction—complex, a little dark, unapologetically nerdy.
I’ve published two books in a trilogy called The Spheres—The Fragments (2022), The House (2025)—and am working on Book Three. If you enjoyed this post, why not sign up to my newsletter?
You can follow my writing adventures on Bluesky, Instagram, Goodreads and Amazon.
