How’s everyone doing?

This beautiful life, June 2025
Ever so often I have to remind myself how lucky—and brave—I am to live the way I do. I don’t get paid to write, make art, or renovate my house. I choose to do all these things, every day when I get up—I might actually save money if I just stayed in bed.
Now, I am not a winter person. Not in this city. And, as a friend likes to remind me without calling me an insufferable whinge, I go through the same blue period every year. And each year, I start sooner in the season and stop later.
So, yes, I’m not in love with my current writing project. It’s a total disaster. And yes, making stock to sell only makes about 10 cents an hour. And yes, my power bill gives me an anxiety attack. And yes, the news makes me feel like the world is drowning.
Still, I’m grateful for this beautiful life.
Writing
Not. Going. Well. Filling in the gaps has blown up the manuscript to 140k words. I’ll need at least two more clean-up walkthroughs before I can even start thinking about ebook formatting and exports.. So, I am not confident to give a new release window until I’ve tackled the last ten chapters.
As for the audiobook edition of Fragments, I’m working on the transitions between the epigraphs, dream scenes, and different POVs. I tried out different voices, but that didn’t work out, so I’m now exploring sound and audio effects
Art
The May shop update came in a bit late, and I decided to create more papermâché artwork for my stockists before finally returning to printmaking and illustrations in July. Yay!
Life
The Apple tree is pruned, the hallway is painted, a new rug has been bought.
That’s about it from me, really.
