Tom’s Boat, Fragment #3

“Tom’s Boat”, Fragment #3

Acrylic on wood

40 cm x 40 cm (16 inch x 16 inch)

Painted July 2011 as part of the ‘Fragments’ exhibition.

When I first met Tom I asked him:

“How can a boat have wings and fly?”

He looked at me, tilting his head to one side like listening to something I can’t hear; I hate it when he does this.

“It is my boat and it has wings.” Tom’s answerers are usually like this.

Book of Fragments

There is actually a treeling growing on the boat as well, I tried to get it on the painting, but it somehow always slipped away. The painting was sold during the VIP evening (artists are not invited) and I never met the people who bought it, I hope it found a good home… The wood was very old. The texture made the painting very hard…
