A Curious Nature – Many Thanks ^_^

First Snapshots

Badger enjoying Afternoon Tea on the window

Rieko and I were totally overwhelmed by the amount of people who joined us for the opening night. Rieko sold all her work during the opening and we got very nice feedback from everybody!

I would like to thank Thistle Hall for hosting the show, Inverlochy Art School for their support, Sophie for being her beautiful self and helping me with the set-up and Stefan Lehmann for taking the pictures, Jonno and Rieko for their patience with my totally stressed-out self.

Many thanks to all who made it to the show!

Hey there! Not so short! Ouch…

Manicure for a new Viech ^_^… You should not have pity with them, but with me. I always get an earful from the little monsters… and I wont get into the details of dental work!

I started to prewash the plush fabric. Since the manufacture changed a year ago the cotton pile is denser, softer and “fluffier”. I can see that other toymaker might prefer this but it doses not work with the Schlaf, the Viech or the Bear. With the pre-washing the fabric is back its old slight scruffy look and feel! One worry less ^_^…

Back in the studio…

I am finally back in the studio where I catch up with my toy making. The online shops are back online and the first new prints from the New Zealand Art Show are available online ^_^. The first new set of bears will be shipped later this week. Thank you for your patience ….again.

I had a good time in Germany and I enjoyed my stay in Berlin immensely. I took many, many images of street art. This one of my favorites…

New Zealand Art Show 2010 – Work in Progress

Note a couple of weeks later: These totally did not work the way I imagined them. They look totally wrong to me. I will work on the idea, but these will go in the bin ^_^.  See my little note on ‘Failure and Achievement ‘.

Stitch. Stitch.. Stitch… Stitch….

I am busy and a bit frantic to get my artwork ready for the show.

New Minu Moo Minicards

My new minu Moo Minicards arrived today! I love the new boxes.

New Moo Minicards

For those of you not familiar with moo: Moo Minicards are a excellent alternative to standard business cards. The whole transaction is done online via moo.co.uk and Flickr.com. The cards come in 100 cards per pack and you can choose as many images for the front as you like, as well as adding text and logo to the back.

For us crafter in New Zealand: Use the moo.co.uk, even though the prices are in British Pounds, the shipping costs from the US (moo.com) are ridiculous. Sign up for the moo newsletter, they sent out free shipping vouchers on a regular basis!
