“Above the Forest” Fragment #4

Painted July 2011 as part of the ‘Fragments’ exhibition.
I really can’t part with this one ^_^. I painted it the weekend before the show in the middle of the night. I can’t really remember when the ballon creature started popping up; I had a series of sketches and I was playing with the idea about something flying above the forest for a while. In the original sketch Tom Rabbit is the passenger, but it did not work for the painting so I just kept his flying scarf…
For me this one is a milestone on my way to find my voice (or style), both with the story lines and the painting techniques.
